I’m writing this “get to know me” post because although, I have an about page (which you can find here), that’s only a mere snippet of me/my interests. I hope my entire blog shows who I am on a deeper, more emotional level through whatever I post, how I write, what I write about, etc., but I thought it would fun to answer some short, basic questions as a supplement to my about page. (Also, I decided to have an impromptu photo-shoot in my hotel room, and made Chloe take some pics of me wearing this black dress and some obnoxious sunglasses because why not)
Q: Are you named after anyone? A: My parents say I’m named after Annette Benning, but I think they just say that because she’s the only famous person with the name, “Annette.”
Q: If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? A: I don’t know… since I consider myself really selfish and bossy, so I feel like I would get really annoyed at myself. However, I always wanted – like – two of me, so I can do more stuff and multitask— I can take my own photos as well like how I want and envision them.
Q: What is your eye color? A: a deep, swirling, chocolate-y brown, resembling a steaming hot mug of coffee on a cold, rainy Sunday morning, which you hold cupped between both your hands, as you lazily watch the tendrils of steam languidly creep their way into the atmosphere.
Q: Favorite smells? A: Bergamot, BOOKSTORES, new books, fresh coffee, open houses, bonfires
Q: Do you have any special talents? A: I can twist my arm all the way around — if that counts.
Q: What are your hobbies? A: Blogging, drawing/painting, laying in bed thinking about life, watching an unhealthy amount of TV, eating an unhealthy amount of unhealthy food, reading, staring at a wall for a good half an hour pondering the meaning of everything, writing… a lot of creative things mostly.
Q: Do you have any pets? A: Yes, a brat of a dog named Alfie — actually his full name is Alfred William Kim. He’s probably the most spoiled, pampered, little bichon ever — I love him.
Q: Do you have any siblings? A: Yes, a brat of a twin sister named Chloe. If you ever meet her and don’t know what to talk about, just mention either lacrosse (but use the term “lax”) or hockey, and you’re in — I love her.
Q: How tall are you? A: I tell everyone I’m 5’6” but I’m actually 5’5 and 3/4. I know I’m a horrible, deceitful liar who should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Q: How would you describe your fashion sense? A: Comfortable, Eclectic, Moody (my fashion sense really depends on how I feel that day, and what influences are currently affecting me at the moment)
Q: Tell us one of your bad habits! A: I take long naps and then get grumpy after I wake up.
Q: What is your favorite color? A: Mauve — partly – mostly because I like saying it.
Q: Cats or Dogs? A: Dogs — I feel like a cat will stab me in the back — either by sabotaging my relationships or by literally stabbing me in the back.
Q: What is your favorite book? A: I simply cannot choose one on the spot.
Q: What is your favorite movie? A: I’ll name my top 5 (disclaimer: I’ve been told I have really bad taste in movies, but oh well): Avengers, Iron Man series, John Wick, Furious 7, and The Devil Wears Prada
Q: What’s your idea of an ideal first date? A: Watching a movie, I guess? Because then you don’t have to talk that much to the other person — or going to the bookstore — or a museum.
Q: Tea or Coffee? A: Iced tea, but I love the taste of coffee; however coffee does not love me, so I get decaf.
Q: What are some of your favorite TV shows? A: Criminal Minds, Bob’s Burgers, White Collar, Lie to Me
Q: Do you speak any different languages and how well? A: I understand Korean, but to great disappointment from my mom and other family members, I do not know how to speak it. I also take French at school, and this is my 4th year taking it.Q: When was the last time you cried? A: You know when you just let everything build up for a while and then one thing triggers it, and you start crying? Yeah that happened to me — it was a very hectic morning of one of my friend’s birthday. We woke up early to go to school, so we can decorate her locker with candy, but when we got to school, I realized I forgot the candy in the car! I was just so frustrated at myself and stressed out because on top of that it was the last week of school before Spring Break, so I had a test like everyday, and a boatload of homework.
Q: Do you use sarcasm a lot? A: Yes, but I usually use it around people I don’t know that well.
Q: Scary movie or happy endings? A: I hate scary movies, so definitely happy endings.
Q: Where were you born? A: In a quaint little town called Los Angeles.
