Welcome to the revamping of my blog! If you didn’t already know, I had a previous blog named Annettie Spaghetti; however, after much deliberation, I decided to scratch that completely and start fresh. I’ll give you a brief explanation of the sudden — but not really that sudden – change. At the beginning of what you can call my blogging journey, I was excited and passionate. It was new and I wanted to share my voice with the world because I believe that I have some very good thoughts swirling around my brain. And I wanted to share my voice through writing. However, as time went by and the more blogposts I wrote, I lost interest- I didn’t lose interest in writing- I lost interest in the things I was writing about – or should I say – the lack of the things I was writing about. At first, I posted consistently, fueled by this excitement of trying something for the first time, but I noticed that I started to not post as much and days would become weeks between publishing posts. I just said, “oh too much schoolwork,” or “I don’t feel like writing right now,” I realized that the reason I didn’t post or lost interest was not because of schoolwork- but because I’m not and will not be satisfied in writing only about my outfit for that day with a few words saying the brand details. I felt like I was writing about nothing. Don’t get me wrong- I fully intend to still write about fashion and my outfits and all that good stuff, but I also want to write my posts with substance. Passion. Inspiration. Posts that are eye opening. Full of life. Enthusiastic. Fun. Creative. Stimulating. I want to merge my love for photography, fashion, and writing and use this blog as an expression of these.

So, welcome to MISFITS & ROSES,  a fashion blog that – if you can bear to navigate the inner workings of my mind- talks about anything and everything under the moon ( I know it’s under the sun, but I think the sun is overrated and the moon is pretty so…), from fashion to books to music to unadulterated advice about high school and living in LA from an angsty teenage girl to fun travels, but also expect a majority of fashion related things. I don’t think that sentence was grammatically correct, but oh well.

I want this site to be an escape- an escape for the misfits and the people who don’t fit in, and for the people who are too intense and emotional, and for the people who are not afraid to speak their mind, or for the people who are too afraid to speak their mind but they have so many thoughts in their heads, they don’t know what to do about it. It can also be a place you think to go when you’re bored at 2 am in the morning. (Am I the only one that Googles, ‘What to do when you’re bored on the internet?’).

As an ending note, I would like to say welcome to everyone – welcome to the bookworms, the nerds, the jocks, the socially awkward, the social butterflies, the introverts, the extroverts, the troublemakers, the geeks, the rule breakers, and to all the people who feel like they don’t belong. WELCOME AND HAVE FUN!

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
